Peru, Swiss tourist’s hotel room robbed, Huancayo

Posted on February 23, 2011 • Filed under: Crime, Peru, TRAVEL

Last week a Swiss tourist staying at the Hotel Kiya in Huancayo left his room to eat according to Diario Correo. When he returned he discovered that his room had been broken into. The thief stole the victim’s laptop, money, cell phone, and credit cards. Police suspect a guest staying a few doors down from the victim who fled the scene. The website for the hotel does not indicate if there are safes in the rooms. If there is a min safe in your room it is wise to store all valuables even if you are leaving for a few minutes. Also, place the donnot disturb sign on your door and turn your TV on.
