URGENT – MISSING U.S. MEDICAL STUDENT IN LARAPA, CUSCO PERU

Seth ThomasOn June 23, 2017, 24 year-old second year U.S. medical student Seth Alexander Thomas began a hike from Lara, Peru in Cusco district to the Cerro Pico. He left the medical clinic where he was working in Lara at approximately 2:00 PM Friday afternoon by himself. He did take some provisions and had a jacket. Seth is considered to be in excellent physical condition and is an experienced hiker. He is 5’11”, 200 pounds. He has brown eyes and brown hair.

He is serving a short term medical mission at the Cervicusco Salvando Clinic in Larapa, Cusco, Peru. Seth was scheduled to return from his hike by sundown. Friends began to look for him on June 24th, 2017, at sunrise. An official search party involving Peruvina police and military began at about noon on June 24th, 2017. He is scheduled to return to the U.S. next week. The U.S. Embassy in Peru has been advised of his status as missing.
