Guayaquil, Ecuador: Lack of Medicine in Mobile Hospital, Ministry of Health

According to ElUniverso.com, the Ministry of Public Health has opened a mobile hospital in Guayaquil. The center opened its doors at 7 a.m. on Monday June 27th. Many people were already lined-up waiting for care, reports radio station Citynoticias. However people have to wait in line for an average of 3 hours. El Universo reports that patients are frustrated since the pharmacy connected to the hospital is lacking basic medicines like complex B and diclofenac. The ministry reports that additional tents were needed to accommodate the estimated 1,700 people. Original attendance numbers were thought to be around 200 reports El Universo. After two weeks in Guayaquil the hospital will move permanently to Fort Huancavilca on Daule road.Read Article
