Venezuela: Authorities Have Seized More Than 20 Tons of Drugs in 2013

From the Venezuelan National Anti-Narcotics Office on June 26, 2013- Members of the Bolivarian National Guard have seized 20 tons 806 kilograms of different types of drugs in 2013 according to the press secretary for the Ministry of the Interior, Justice, and Peace, Jorge Galindo. Furthermore, authorities have detained 1,182 people for drug trafficking charges. 67 of which were foreigners. The seizures have increased 9% from the amounts seized at the same time in 2012.
