Thirty Kilograms of Marijuana Seized by Federal Police in Brazilian Airport

On January 8, 2013, G1 (Globo) reported that Brazilian Federal Police seized 30 kilograms of marijuana in a suitcase en route from Rio de Janeiro to Fortaleza (Ceará).  After the owner abandoned the bag in Fortaleza, the bag was returned to Santos Dumont Airport in Rio de Janeiro.  Federal Police traced it back to its owner through use of security camera images from the airport in Fortaleza and credit card records.  The suspect’s identity has not yet been made public.  Read Article
