Pair Arrested in Mato Grosso, Brazil, with 80 Kilograms of Drugs

On January 31, 2013, G1 reported that two men were arrested today in Cáceres, about 250 kilometers from the state capital of Mato Grosso, Cuiabá, for drug possession.  The men were found with 80 kilograms of cocaine base, and were arrested in a patch of shrubbery.  Three other men were also spotted, but they escaped and have not been seen since.  The ones arrested stated that the drugs came from Bolivia, from a town called La Petas.  They intended to pass the drugs on to a truck driver, who would then deliver the drug to various parts of Brazil.  The truck driver has not been named yet.  Read Article
