Strong snowfalls over the past few days forced the evacuation of 20 people from Ushuaia, a town on the island Tierra del Fuego.

According to La Voz, last night the people were evacuated from the Dos Banderas neighbourhood, located in the mountain area of Ushuaia. The measure was determined after a joint operation of staff from different departments of the province and the municipality warned that it could not ensure that gas containers and potable water would be available there.

La Voz reports that the weather service said it will continue snowing all day today, though with less intensity than in the past few days. That said, the wind is still strong, and the unstable climate will persist at least until Thursday. Télam reports that 20cm of snow could fall over the next two days. Read Article
