Mexico: Two Missing Australian tourists may have been found dead, waiting confirmation

bbc.com reported friends of two Australian tourists missing for more than a week in Mexico will travel to Sinaloa following a report that the men’s van has been found, one of the friends said Sunday. The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (Dfat) issued a statement confirming that the pair’s car had been found, but did not confirm reports that two bodies had been found inside the burnt out van. The families and partners are aware the van in which they were travelling has been located by Mexican authorities and that a tragic event has occurred.

The families hold deep fears for the safety of their sons but stress that they are still waiting for details to be confirmed. Members of Dean and Adam’s families will be travelling to Mexico in the coming days and working with Australian consular officials and Mexican authorities. We ask for privacy during this enormously difficult time. Dean Lucas and Adam Coleman were traveling from Edmonton, Canada to Mexico and were scheduled to arrive on 21 November in the city of Guadalajara but failed to appear.
