Guayaquil, Ecuador – thieves pose as electrical workers

Assailants disguised as electrical workers.
Deceived 73 year old homeowner, stormed home. Four men posing as electrical workers in the Orchid neighborhood of Guayaquil. The offense took place on Monday morning at 10:30, when the four thieves arrived at the house in a van with a logo of the electrical company, wanting to check the victim’s meter. When the victim opened the door, the assailants stormed the house, forcing him to lay on the ground and tied him up with packing tape. When the victim opened the door of his home, subjects ambushed and forced to lie on the floor, then put him packing tape on hands, feet and mouth. They stole $2000 in cash along with a camera and jewelry. An accomplice stood outside and distracted neighbors talking about electrical issues according to the El Universo. Read Article
