Ecuador, refugee status requirements tightened

Ecuador’s Foreign Ministry said Monday that requirements for having refugee status in the South American country have been tightened.
The new measures are based on the “citizen security policy” of the Ecuadorian government, said Leonardo Carrion, assistant secretary of migratory, consular and refugee issues at the ministry. Read Article
