Ecuador: Army Commander resigns, disagreed with Minister of Defense over promotions

Eluniverso.com reported that Army Commander Marco Vera Rivers stepped down on Thursday because he did not agree with the prmotions of three colonels to generals with the permission of the Minister of Defence, María Fernanda Espinosa.
The discomfort of Vera would have arisen after Gortaire Nicholas Padovani (concuñado chief of the Joint Command of the Armed Forces Leonardo Barreiro), Jose Luis Castillo and Oswaldo Moreno were promoted, even though six months ago did not get good grades by their resumes and were rejected for such promotions.
