Colombia wants access to account information of its citizens with accounts in Panama

confidencialcolomia.com reported according to the newspaper La Prensa that country reported Colombia is the main source of funds coming from abroad to banking center and the Colombian authorities want access to account information of its citizens, information that Panama is protected by law.

A Panamanian banker explained that most of the funds coming from the neighboring country legalized arrive, having been reported to the tax authorities.

The crisis sparked by the inclusion of Panama in the list of tax havens in Colombia will be addressed today in a meeting between the Vice President of the Republic, Isabel de Saint Malo, and a negotiating team to Colombia headed by Foreign Minister Maria Angela Holguin Cuellar and the head of the Directorate of National Taxes and Customs, Santiago Rojas.
