The illegal mining of gold and other minerals, which inevitably contaminates water sources and the air is 44 percent of Colombian municipalities, representing 30 percent of total domestic mines, according to statistics provided by the Ombudsman Ombudsman, who conducted a study in 1,010 municipalities.
