Colombia: five soldiers killed in FARC ambush

Elcomercio.com reported that Five Colombian soldiers of a battalion of jungle were killed and three others wounded yesterday in an ambush by guerrillas of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), in the department of Putumayo, southern Colombia near the Ecuadorian border. The information was confirmed by the military commander of the region, Colonel Juvenal Diaz Mateus, commander of the 27th Jungle Brigade. “In the development of operations in the area, the FARC detonated a warhead to the passage of one of the vehicles,” he said.
