Chile: high rates of breast cancer

Study: Chile is one of the countries with the highest incidence in breast cancer
The number of deaths from this disease will double by the year 2030 to 74,000 per year at the regional level. Important results on the incidence and coverage for the treatment of breast cancer in Latin America was presented by leading medical specialists within the framework of the VIII International Symposium on Breast Cancer Clinic Las Condes. This study was conducted by the Pan American Health Organization, the American Cancer Society and the Society Latin American and Caribbean Medical Oncology, and showed that 114,900 women are diagnosed with breast cancer annually and of these 37 000 die each year in Latin America and the Caribbean.
