Women Withhold Sex to Demand Road Repair, Colombia

•In Barbacoas, Nariño, Colombia, 300 women are refusing to have sexual intercourse with their husbands to participate in a strike to demand that the government finish repairs on the Junín-Barbacoas stretch.
•As Prensa Latina reveals, with this “crossed legs” strike, the women hope to convince their husbands to demand repair from the proper authorities.
•Due to the disrepair of the road, travel times can range from 12 to 14 hours.
•Travel on the road is dangerous, as patients have died while being transported to medical centers.
