Washington considers relationship with Argentina “difficult”

The Obama administration yesterday formally recognized the relationship with Argentina is “difficult” and faces “obstacles” in sensitive areas such as the country’s international financial performance, security and the fight against drug trafficking.

The Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs Roberta Jacobson, said during a presentation to the Congress that Argentina “needs to resume a positive relationship with the international financial community, both for its economic future as the system and the creditors in the U.S. and elsewhere, that remains a very complicated relationship.” Read Article
