Venezuela, court permits judge house arrest

A Venezuelan court on Wednesday granted house arrest to a judge who has been jailed for more than a year in a case criticized by human rights groups. The judge, Maria Afiuni, has been imprisoned since December 2009 on charges stemming from her decision to release a banker, Eligio Cedeno, who later fled the country. Read Article
