Two Murders in Two Days in Portoviejo, Manabi Ecuador

With at least three shots, two of those visible in the head, Jimmy León Zambrano, 50, was killed yesterday morning in the sector of the Santa Cruz bridge in the capital of Manabi. Staff from specialized police units, such as the Dinased, were investigating how the events occurred.

A police officer who did not want to identify himself said that neighbors would have heard several shots in the early hours, but Leon’s body was found near 13:00.

The police arrived at the site and proceeded to surround the area, near the Santa Cruz bridge, where it crosses the river Portoviejo.

It is the second violent event that occurs in two days in Portoviejo. Last Saturday, the victim was 39-year-old Jimmy Baque Lavayen, who was reportedly killed after an argument in the San Alejo sector.  Read Article
