Rio de Janeiro Brazil: Tourist visits suspended to Favela Rocinha due to outbreak of violence

Foreign tourist visits to the favela Rocinha, the best known of Rio de Janeiro, were suspended due to the outbreak of violence in recent weeks when neighbors reported the alleged actions of death squads and police say the drug traffickers.
The Jeep Tour Rocinha, located near the elegant neighborhood of Ipanema, Rio de Janeiro in the south, was suspended after nine people were killed in recent weeks, although the community police occupied in November 2011 in an operation in which Armed Forces acted. Read Article
