Quito Ecuador: Mariscal Sucre International Airport to close February 19, 2013, after 52 years

Eluniverso.com reported that a power outage at 19:00 on February 19, will be the final step to close the capital’s airport today, after 52 years of operation, and the opening of the new, in Tababela, northeast of Quito, the next day. Maria Fernanda Arboleda, closing manager Mariscal Sucre International Airport, confirmed the date and said yesterday that the transfer of equipment to the opening and began the middle of this month, the company coordinated activity by DHL and specialists from Munich Airport (Germany) who were hired by concessionaire Quiport.
