Posted on December 22, 2013 • Filed under: Ecuador, Latin America Health, TRAVEL

lahora.com.ec reported that The Ministry of Health closed a Burger King in Quito because of a lack of hygiene. Health officials inspected the fast food restaurant after a picture began circulating on social media of a rat on the premises. The inspectors found the Burger King at Orellana and Reina Victoria had improper waste management as well as expired products located in the area where food is dispensed to the public.
The communiqué reported that Burger King has “improper waste management” in the property and that “expired products, which were located in the area of products for dispensing to the public found”.
The punishment can be a fine of up to $3,000, plus temporary or permanent closure of the restaurant. So far, no response from Burger King. Read Article

ONE READER WROTE: This is an outstanding book, crammed with information about Ecuador that you will not find elsewhere. Nick Crowder has focused on issues other writers and bloggers simply ignore but which are vital to anyone considering moving to this South American country. Since I already live in Ecuador I doubted I’d find the book of much value but I was very mistaken.
