Protests against government in Bolivia escalate, massive road blocks

Eluniverso.com reported that the failed attempt to take an airport and the upsurge of roadblocks in Bolivia aborted yesterday a meeting between the government and the Workers Central (COB) that sought to appease the country, prey for eight days of a general strike.

Ministers of Economy, Luis Arce, Working, Daniel Santalla, and Government, Carlos Romero, were together for eight hours until yesterday morning with leaders of the COB, but suspended the meeting to learn that teachers, miners and teachers university blocked roads in four regions. Read Article
