Police Arrest 26 in Porto Alegre, Brazil, Suspected in Gas Station Attacks

On February 19, 2013, Zero Hora reported that police in Porto Alegre arrested some 26 people connected to a string of gas station attacks throughout the city.  Through the arrests, 140 policemen were utilized, 14 guns and 2 vehicles were seized.  Two other recently stolen cars were later found.  The police action also recorded the death of a young resident after a confrontation between police and suspects at one of the gas stations.  Some of the suspects were captured by means of stopping taxis and motorcycles close to the scenes of the crimes.  Read Article
