Peru, over 500 people reported disappeared so far 2011, believed to be mafias related

At least 556 people are missing in the country so far this year, according to official figures cited by the National Police Peruvian Net against Child Pornography (RCPI-Peru). Senmache Dimitri, president of the entity, said that between January and August 2011 have been reported 810 complaints of disappearances in the country’s police stations and more than 250 of these cases have been resolved.
