Peru: Increase in sea current temperatures caused deaths of pelicans

An increase of up to 5 ° in the Pacific ocean surface temperature has altered the marine ecosystem in northern Peru. According to Environment and Health authorities of that country, that would be the cause for the death of about 5,000 pelicans starvation (lack of food).
These birds feed on fish such as anchovy, which has migrated south to cooler waters. If current conditions persist, this could spread to Ecuador and El Oro there are concerns. Tomas Cruz, president of the Union of Fishermen’s Organizations in this province, said the fishermen are afraid to death of birds near Ecuador, including the bilateral trade of fish has decreased.
