Municipality of Quito Ecuador: digitizing property boundary surveys, owners in for surprises

Elcomercio.com reported that in 2010, the Municipality of Quito began the process of updating the register of the land of 423,000 hectares in the district. The update cadastral register is a database of planes 710 000 urban land and about 60 000 rural. There also has information that relates to the spatial positioning of the land in a coordinate system. This is the first phase of the modernization of the cadastre capital. Under the proposed schedule, by the end of 2013 there will be a geospatial map database updated, which will define exactly the area and coordinates of each property in the District. Read Article
