The U.S. Embassy urges tourists to avoid travel in the States of Sinaloa, Oaxaca, Jalisco and Nayarit.

Elpais.com/Elena Reina reported the United States has issued an alert to warn its citizens about the risks of visiting some destinations in Mexico. Directly mark some States as “banned” for government staff and their families. In a statement issued by the US Embassy advises that travel to the southern neighbour can cost dearly: between 2014 and 2015 have been killed 203 U.S. citizens. The Government of Mexico responded quickly to ask that the alerts have “accurate and contextual information”, but did not want to give more details or has denied the American release.

The red flags that have been marked with this alert are Aguascalientes, Colima and Michoacán border and across that State, the border between Jalisco and Zacatecas, Nayarit, Oaxaca, Tamaulipas, Coahuila, Durango and Guerrero except Acapulco anywhere and some municipalities of the coast. These points are expressly prohibited for civil servants and their families, according to the Embassy. He is especially discouraged travel by roads and even less at night.
