Mexico: Police Arrest Six Extortionists in Ciudad Juárez

Six men, between the ages of 19 and 30, were arrested last week in the act of collecting extorted money, El Mexicano reports. They are also being investigated for other crimes, such as carjacking. The men were arrested after they demanded 50,000 pesos (4,265 USD) as “fee payment” and gave the man a day to pay the amount, then pressured him with various threats. Police were involved when a payment was made and the men were arrested when they went to collect the money. They are being investigated for five more extortions, as well as carjacking, assault and robbery. Read Article
