Mexico: Nearly Half of population of 118 million, living in poverty

In contrast, the minimum wage of Costa Rica triples (3.18 times) the income equivalent to the poverty line. Mexico, the second Latin America economic power after Brazil, is “the only country in the region where the minimum wage is lower (0.66 times) to the threshold of poverty”, said on Tuesday the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC).
