Mexico City: unprecedented violence returns

Elpais.com reported that Mexico City, considered one of the safest places in the country in recent years, has suffered this weekend a wave of unprecedented violence. Since last Friday to Monday, 23 people were killed in separate incidents in various delegations of the Federal District. That figure, coupled with the deaths of 16 other people on the same days in the neighboring state of Mexico , has set off security alarms and raised the new head of the Federal District, Miguel Angel Mancera , its first major challenge.
