Loreto, Peru: Two Women Rescued On Way to Be Prostituted in Brazil

On July 15, 2013 RPP Noticias reported that two young women were rescued as they were being trafficked to Brazil for prostitution. The two victims were a 17-year-old identified by the initials MRZL, and her 21-year-old neighbor Alajandrina Tapullima Romañol. The mother of the first victim contacted the Human Trafficking Division after her daughter managed to call her from the town of Pebas. The girls were later rescued at a checkpoint. Read Article
