Guayaquil Ecuador: Victim robbed in elevator after making withdrawal at bank

ANALYSIS: While there is limited information in this article, individuals need to be cautious when withdrawing large amounts of money from banks in Guayaquil as well as other areas of Ecuador. There is nothing in the original article pointing to an inside job. However, it has happened in the past that bank employees working with thieves will often phone the assailants via a cellphone with details about the customer who just made a withdrawal in order to commit a robbery after leaving the bank.
