Firefighters begin hunger strike in Panama

A total of 16 firefighters Monday Panamanians began a hunger strike on the headquarters “Ricardo Arango” located in downtown Panama City, the dismissal of seven of his companions. The president of the Firefighters Association, Gabriel Gomez, said that “we as an association we present reimbursement resources, we expect a prompt response from the director.” The layoffs came after the protest last week, which ended in a clash between riot police attacked the fire with tear gas, and these in turn responded with water jets. 21 firefighters were arrested.
