Federal Electoral Tribunal Spends R$3.8 million in Overtime Pay in Brazil

On January 14, 2013, Gazeta do Povo reported that Brazil’s Federal Electoral Tribunal (TSE) spent R$3.8 million in overtime pay to 567 employees in the month of November.  Between September and November, the total was R$9.8 million.  Moreover, 161 of those employees received between R$26,000 and R$64,000 in the month of November, signifying a lack of control in the payment system.  Many of these employees earned more in November than the ministers who actually paid them.   Read Article
