Favelas of Rio de Janeiro, the hard part starts now (opinion)

In the last week, the population of the city of Rio de Janeiro has experienced a high expectation of victory in the fight against drug trafficking from the arrest of Antonio Bonfim Lopes, alias “Nem”, the leader in selling drugs in the Rocinha favela – the largest in Brazil and one of the largest in the world. Two days after locking “Nem” in prison, public security forces took control of Rocinha with more than 2,000 troops of the civil police and military, with support from the Brazilian army tanks.
