On May 18, 2013 Elsalvador.com reported the arrest of Oscar “Chino Lando” Orlando M.H, accused of trafficking and imprisoning five children between the ages of 6 and10 years. Orlando was arrested by authorities after the Human Trafficking Unit of the prosecutor’s office had received a complaint concerning sexual exploitation centers a few weeks ago. Orlando is accused of forcing the pregnant women who worked for him to take drugs and then kidnapping their babies for ransom. However, the babies were never returned to their mothers and instead were kept by the accused and later forced into labor. The child victims were rescued in an operation in Santa Rosa de Lima, in the department of La Union. They were transported to a hospital in San Miguel after they were found apparently drugged inside a home. There is no evidence of biological ties between the rescued children and the accused.
