Ecuador: President Reaches Out To World Bank to help fund social programs

Ecuador’s new leftist president, Lenin Moreno, said on Thursday he had reached out to the World Bank – an organization scorned by his predecessor – in a bid for financing that could help him fund ambitious social programs.

Former President Rafael Correa ordered the expulsion of the World Bank’s representative in the country in 2007 because of conditions attached to a $100 million loan. Read Article
