Ecuador operations seizes large quantities of weapons and explosives, focus on border with Peru

The Ecuadorian army seized in February more than 7 thousand arms ammunition and 1,595 explosives in the province of El Oro (border with Peru). In recent operations conducted between 13 and 22 February, the military seized 48 firearms including shotguns, pistols, carbines, among others.In addition 403 ammunition, 1,595 sticks of dynamite, 220 meters of detonating cord, 20 pounds of white granulated explosive (TNT), 547 detonating caps, 31 and 20 weapons sharp machetes.
