Ecuador: government begins spraying for Black Sigatoka for small banana producers

Elnuevoempresario.com reported that a total of 17,000 hectares, corresponding to 4030 small producers benefit from spraying against the plague of black Sigatoka start on Friday as one of the measures outlined in the emergency banana that began two months ago and that concludes tomorrow.

The Deputy Agriculture Minister Luis Valverde, said this afternoon that the spraying begin in the provinces of Guayas, Los Ríos and El Oro and the beneficiaries will be small producers with up to ten hectares.
