Hoy.com.ec reported from 24 to 28 November 2008, the Ecuador made public its project RLA3006. It was during the meeting called “Development of activities on uranium production cycle”, that was developed in Brazil, where the Ministry of electricity and renewable energy (MEER) and the Undersecretary of Control, research and nuclear applications (NAICS) explained plans for exploitation of this mineral.

Information is even located in the portal of Internet of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAE), which is the scientific intergovernmental global forum and cooperation in the nuclear field (in Spanish is international IAEA Atomic Energy Agency).

In this document, to show more than the figures that year on the matrix energy (see point), there is the development of nuclear energy or nucleoenergetica for the country in the next 15 years, whenever there is a political decision to do so.

Hence arises the need to develop an “intense radioactive mineral exploration program”, as well as to promote mining, processing minerals, metallurgy, security to exploit uranium resources and obtain “enriched uranium”. Read Article
