Ecuador, Colombia: ORANGE ALERT VOLCANIC ERUPTION

Ecuador and Colombia triggered the alert likely eruption of Chiles (Knot of the Grass in the Colombian Andean Western Cordillera) and Cerro Black volcanoes (southern Ecuador and northern Colombia), after strong earthquakes recorded yesterday in the area.
The Department of Risk Management Ecuador enacted the intermediate risk warning (orange) after the earthquakes of up to 5.9 degrees on the Richter scale in the Andean province of Carchi in northern Iraq, although these no casualties or substantial property damage. Thus declared the “emergency situation” to accelerate the delivery of humanitarian aid and “make all immediate actions required in areas considered high risk in the province of Carchi by the activity of Chiles and Black Mountain volcanoes”.
