Ecuador aims to expand ethanol distribution to reduce gas emissions

(SeeNews) reported Ecuador’s government wants to expand local ethanol distribution throughout the country by 2017 so as to reduce gas emissions and fuel imports, president Rafael Correa said Saturday.

The mix containing locally-produced sugarcane ethanol is expected to replace a type of petrol (gasoline), called “extra”, and to represent 45% of the national fuel market, followed by diesel and other types of petrol. Read Article
