Drug Expert says Scotland should emulate Medellin Colombia progess in drug war

Ioan GrillHe points to successful projects in cities such as Medellin in Colombia. It was once the stronghold of former drug warlord Pablo Escobar, whose cartel controlled 80 per cent of cocaine sold in the US. After Escobar was shot dead in 1993, Medellin was transformed from a battlefield for drug warlords into one of the most dynamic cities in Latin America. This was largely due to inner-city renewal projects and Grillo says cities across the world should follow Colombia’s example. Read Article
