Dominican Police still execute, torture people, the U.S. says

The U.S. denounced today deaths and tortures at the hands of the police forces, and the terrible conditions persist in Dominican Republic’s prisons in 2010. In its annual report on the world’s human rights situation, the State Department affirmed that people trafficking, violence against women, discrimination against minorities and little enforcement of the labor laws continue here as well as in neighboring Haiti.
