Cuenca Ecuador: Upsurge in Murders First Five Months of 2017

eltelegrafo.com.ec / There were 22 murders reported in Cuenca Ecuador during the first five months of 2017. This is an increase of seven more murders for the same time period in 2016. Four of the 22 murders were the result of fights. March was the most violent month so far in 2017. There was also an increase in the use of firearms in the commission of crimes in Azuay Province. Security Minister César Navas claims Cuenca is still a safe city. Home thefts fell 20% and motorcycle thefts decreased by 16.6%. Read Article
