Cuba elects its first transsexual municipal delegate

They call Adela, but its official name is José Agustín Hernández. Declared transsexual and lives as a woman in a village in central Cuba where he was elected delegate municipal (council), his “greatest victory” against all “repudiation” who claims to have suffered in its 48 years. In the second round of local elections held this month in Caibarién, a village in the central province of Villa Clara, Hernandez won by 100 points ahead of the position of delegate to the Municipal Assemblies of People’s Power, a case “unprecedented” for a Transgender activists by some Cuban island.
