Crab Sales resume in Ecuador September 16, 2012

Today ends the ban on red crabs (Ucides occidentalis) and blue (Cardisoma crassum), and capture resumes tomorrow, holding, processing and marketing, actions that were prohibited as they ruled for a month, from August 15 .

This closure is the last of the year and the most important because the crustacean enters a molting period (change shell) and its consumption can cause poisoning and intestinal infection. Read Article
