Colombia: Estimated 18,000 minors associated with armed groups such as FARC, ELN

42% of the members of the FARC is for children recruited, while in 44% of ELN insurgents are minors. People used to talk that 14,000 children were associated with armed groups outside the law. The latest report of the Colombian Institute of Family Welfare in conjunction with political scientist Natalia Springer, revealed that the figure for the cut last year reached 18,000 children and adolescents.
