China seeking large shrimp from Ecuador for domestic market

Undercurrentnews.com reported that Chinese buyers are now turning to Ecuador, a place that is experienced in growing shrimp to large sizes and has yet to detect EMS at any of its farms, sources said. “It appears they cannot produce bigger shrimp, but the Chinese love big shrimp, and in Ecuador there’s a lot of big shrimp because, according to the technique they use, they produce that,” Ecuador-based shrimp broker Francis Dykmans de Coninck told Undercurrent News.
